Are you or someone you care for at risk for type 2 diabetes?
Let’s take this time to check on our health! Many don’t know, yet about 1 in 3 Americans have prediabetes. This insight can be used to help your friends, family, and those around you learn if they are at risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). If you have prediabetes, there are steps you can take to prevent or delay the onset of diabetes. The first step is knowing if you are at risk and being aware of the resources that can help you achieve your health goals.
Who is at risk of type 2 diabetes?
- • If you are overweight.
• If you are 45 years of age or older.
• If your parent or sibling has type 2 diabetes.
• If you are physically active fewer than 3 times per week.
• If you ever gave birth to a baby that weighed more than 9 pounds.
• If you ever had diabetes while pregnant (gestational diabetes).
